In the mining industry, demanding operating environments can lead to considerable wear on heavy machinery and equipment. This is why selecting the right material is crucial. Millathane® millable polyurethane rubber is an excellent option as it provides both durability and versatility. It performs exceptionally well in high-abrasion environments, making it suitable not only for mining applications but also for dredging, excavating, and many off-road uses.
Millathane polymers present a unique combination of properties not found in other natural or synthetic rubbers. Their outstanding abrasion resistance, superior tear and tensile strength, as well as oil and ozone resistance, make them particularly suited for harsh environments. The availability of polyester and polyether grades allows for the optimization of either water/humidity resistance or oil/chemical resistance. Furthermore, different grades can be blended to achieve intermediate properties. Some Millathane grades also offer excellent low-temperature properties, ensuring reliable performance even in extremely cold environments.
Millathane compounds can be formulated to achieve hardness levels from 30 to 95 Shore A, catering to a broad range of customer requirements. Common applications include conveyor belts, hoses, solid tires, bearings, bushings, seals, gaskets, vibration isolators, engine mounts and more. Additionally, Millathane compounds can serve as protective guards to shield edges and other expensive surfaces. They can be applied as a tough, protective layer over conventional rubber surfaces, increasing abrasion resistance and durability.
TSE Industries takes pride in being the market leader and largest manufacturer of millable polyurethane rubber.
